Procedure: Direct students to look at the CaSE Resources book, page 44 Ask the students what they notice with respect to the colors used in the image. [They are various shades of brown.] Note that in the lower image, the events are ordered with respect to time and ask them if there is a pattern with respect to the color [The pattern is that the color is darker the more distant the event]. The teacher should note that this diagram is an example of how color can be used to convey information (the color illustrates which event occurred first) >>>end of exercise<<< 3
