2 What is an EPQ? a standalone qualification designed to extend and develop a students' skills in independent research and project management the perfect way to extend and develop your knowledge and understanding beyond the material being covered in class a way to explore your passion for a topic The Sixth Colchester County High School for Girls

3 What is an EPQ? awarded UCAS points worth half an A-level
graded on a 6 point scale of A* to E 28 UCAS points for A* The Sixth Colchester County High School for Girls

4 What would I have to do? choose an area of interest
draft a title and aims of the project for formal approval by the centre plan, research and carry out the project produce a 5000 word research based written report OR an artefact with a 1000 word written report deliver a presentation to a non specialist audience complete an AQA prescribed Production Log and Assessment Record to provide evidence of all stages of project development and production The Sixth Colchester County High School for Girls

8 What is the commitment? attending 7 Tuesday lunchtime (in-put) sessions meeting interim deadlines meeting once per fortnight with a supervisor for 20 minutes completing the EPQ process by Wednesday 28th March 2018 The Sixth Colchester County High School for Girls

9 The process: What will be taken into consideration:
progress to date in A/AS Level subjects (your teachers will each be asked to consider if you are meeting deadlines, producing work of the expected standard of work, coping with the workload) attendance pattern to date your proposal document resilience The Sixth Colchester County High School for Girls
