2 Poltergeists… What is a Poltergeist?
- Poltergeists are strange, invisible presences, often thought to be ghosts. They haunt their victims by making loud noises; throwing things and making a mess. The name comes from the German, meaning ‘noisy ghost’. Do they really exist? Cases of Poltergeists have been reported for 2000 years, all over the world. Yet very few photographs have ever been taken of them.

3 IELTS Speaking Part 2 As before, we are going to prepare for a possible IELTS topic. Look at the topic card. You will have 5 minutes to write notes based on the topic hints. You will then speak for 2 minutes about your topic. KEEP THE TOPIC CARD SAFE FOR FUTURE REVISION!

4 Reading After the reading – discuss these questions:
Do you think that Poltergeists do exist after reading this case study? Why/why not? Do you think Teleportation is possible? Did the events in the Enfield House scare you? Do you think that Janet was faking it? Give reasons for your answer.

– The Exorcist – Blair Witch Of these 3 clips – which one would be the most believable? ‘The Exorcist’ was based on a true story and subsequently stories of exorcisms appeared to surface after the movie’s release. Stories were accounted for by scientists and investigators who could not explain such paranormal and supernatural occurrences.
