1. This character is a businessman and a miser. He lives on his own. He is unkind to everyone, including the people who work for him. He hates Christmas, and tells his clerk, Bob Cratchit, that he must work on Christmas Day.

This character is Scrooge’s clerk. He is poor and has a large family.
2. This character is Scrooge’s clerk. He is poor and has a large family. He is a kind and cheerful man. Although Scrooge treats him badly he is grateful to his employer for giving him a job.

3. This character is Scrooge’s nephew. Every year, he invites Scrooge to spend Christmas with him and his family, but every year Scrooge refuses. Although this character isn’t rich, he loves to celebrate Christmas with his family.

4. This character is Bob Cratchit’s youngest son. He is very ill and his family do not have enough money to pay for a doctor. He uses a stick to help him walk. Although he is ill, this character is kind and happy and grateful for having such a loving family.

As a business man he did not make as much money as Scrooge does.
5. This character was Scrooge’s employer when he was a young man. He was a kind and generous employer, and had wonderful Christmas parties for the people who worked for him. As a business man he did not make as much money as Scrooge does.

6. This character was Scrooge’s business partner, but he died a year ago. He was a miser, like Scrooge. He visits Scrooge on Christmas Eve and warns him that unless he changes he will be miserable for ever. He also tells Scrooge that three more ghosts will visit him that night.

7. This character takes Scrooge to see how other families are celebrating Christmas. He shows Scrooge his nephew Fred’s family enjoying Christmas together. He also shows Scrooge how other people see him as an unkind and lonely man.

8. This character shows Scrooge the future, after he is dead. Scrooge sees that nobody is sad that he is dead. He also shows Scrooge the Cratchit family who are really sad because Tiny Tim has died.

8. This character takes Scrooge back to the past and shows him scenes from his life when he was young. He reminds Scrooge of people in his past, like his sister Fan, his girlfriend Belle and his old boss Fezziwig.

10. This character used to be Scrooge’s girlfriend when he was a young man. They were going to get married. She decided not to marry Scrooge because he started to love money more than he loved her.
