A General Election normally occurs every five years. The next General Election wasn’t due until 2020.  However, the Government in power can call an election at any time if they deem it necessary.
The results of the election on Thursday 8th June are vital to the immediate and long term future of the UK, possibly under Brexit.

BREXIT – Scotland will have a referendum to become independent of the UK, so that they can remain in the EU.
DEFENCE – Scrap ‘trident’ and re-establish naval bases.
TAX – The rich will pay 5p more on the pound, tax banker bonuses, regulate fuel prices so you pay less at the pump.
HEALTH – Invest 7% (£11 million) in the NHS and reverse the privatisation of the NHS.
EDUCATION – Maintain a free university education for Scots.
WELFARE – A real living wage for all adults aged 18 and over, introduce targets to end child poverty, and abolish ‘Bedroom Tax’.

BREXIT – Ban use of the EU flag, National Independence Day on June 23rd, no EU divorce bill and restoration and back to the blue British passport.
IMMIGRATION – A one in/out system, introduction of a social attitudes test, and a 5 year ban on immigration.
FOREIGN AID – Reduce aid from 0.7% to 0.2% of GDP and commission a NOSH ship.
RELIGION – Ban the burka, Islamic faith schools and sharia law in the UK.
JUSTICE – tighter controls on the effects of alcohol abuse, and FGM.
HEALTH – Invest an extra £11 billion into the NHS and welfare system every year, train more doctors and nurses, increased investment for mental health.
TAX – lower incomes will pay less tax on their wages and bills, scrap the TV licence.
EDUCATION – no uni fees for STEM students and more grammar schools.
