7 Viewing the ISR Log

8 Agenda ISR Log uses Importance of the ISR Log Accessing the ISR Log
How to search for an ISR Content of the ISR Log Questions and discussion

9 ISR Report/Log A tool used to view an ISR after it has been initiated.
The original format of the ISR is lost after it is submitted. It allows the end-user to see the status of the ISR, comments made on the ISR, attain the personnel number for new hires, and attain position numbers for position copies and position creates. An end-user can view ISRs for employees within his/her org unit or within an org unit to which he/she has access. You do not have to initiate or approve the ISR in order to view it.

10 Importance of the ISR Log
notification that an ISR has been approved/rejected with changes: Approver I and Approver II can reject and/or change the content of an initiated ISR. HR Shared Services cannot make changes to the body of the ISR. They can only add comments. Comments made by HR Shared Services: Position numbers Personnel numbers (PERNR) Budget information Labor distribution Changes made per the initiator or approver’s request Discrepancies

11 Accessing the ISR Log 1. In the transaction, or command window at the top left of the screen, type in the transaction code “zhpa_isr_ report”. 2. Then select the green checkmark to the left of the transaction window to execute. As an end-user it is important to be able to track the progress of ISRs that have been initiated or approved by your organization. This is especially true once the ISR has been approved (or rejected) by HR Shared Services. You will need to know how to retrieve the Object ID number for the org unit, job, or position for which you have submitted an SAP action. The first step in this process is to log into the SAP database using your individual logon and password. Once you have successfully logged in, you should be at the SAP Easy Access screen shown in the illustration below.

12 Searching the ISR Log To create a report:
You can search for specific ISRs based on a number of field values: ISR Number – Must know the exact ISR number assigned by SAP ISR Actions – Hire, Salary Change, Bonus/Supplemental Pay… Personnel number/Object Id – Either the employee number the ISR was completed on or the Position/Org Unit number ISR Status – Initiated, Approved, Rejected…

13 Searching the ISR Log - Continued
To create a report: You can search for specific ISRs based on a number of field values: User Name – The originator’s JHED Login ID Create/Change Date – This is required, but can be a range if not sure of the exact date created Effective Date – The effective date of the ISR Initiator – The originator’s personnel number

14 Searching the ISR Log - Continued
Enter your search values or combination of and click the Execute icon. If you do not receive the desired results, try a broader set of search values. Just entering a range in the Create Date fields and your JHED ID in the User Name fields can produce a list of all ISRs you have created.

15 Content of the ISR Log After clicking the Execute icon, the following screen will appear (ISR Report). Click once on any of the underlined fields to advance to the status screen for the ISR you have selected. Click once on any underlined item.

16 Status Line Items On this screen you will see status line items for the ISR indicating “Initiated,” “Approved,” and/or “Approved & Completed,” or “Rejected.”

17 ISR Details On this screen you will also be able to scroll to the far right, using the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen, to find the Object ID, personnel number, and/or any comments entered for the selected ISR.

18 ISR Details – Continued
Under the column titled “Final Recipient Comm” you will find comments made by the HR Shared Services representative that worked on the ISR. The comment will include the Object ID number. Position number (object ID) found here in Comments section.

19 Drilling Down At the ISR Report screen, you can drill down to look at the detailed data for the ISR. Please note, the format of the original ISR is lost at this point. Click on any link to drill down to ISR data fields screen.

20 Drilling Down - Continued
After drilling down from the ISR Report screen, you will be presented with an ISR report window that will enable you to scroll up and down to view the corresponding data that has been entered for each field of the ISR. This is a view of what the initiator and/or approver entered into the body of the ISR. Scroll up and down ISR data fields

21 Conclusion The ISR Log/Report is an important tool in SAP.
It provides a history of initiated ISRs, allows for viewing of the ISR after submission, allows end-users to attain the status of a submitted ISR, and lists the comments section of ISRs. For help on viewing the ISR Log contact HR Shared Services Main Line: Website: using the respective inbox:

22 Q&A We’re going to open the phone lines now!
