Education Committee Goal: To keep abreast of educational issues on the local state, and federal levels and serve as a liaison with government officials.

Culture Club Goal: To broaden our understanding of other cultures in our community as well as engage members of UW4C in joining in events

Monthly Objectives Creation of two Sub-Committees:

Culture Club – Action Items
Attendance at Cultural events representing our group. Maintaining a connection within UWFC members to share stories and engage in self care.

Identified Issues: The need for immigrants to connect with others seeking support in this Trump era. Opportunity to influence the views of people that fear diversity by educating them about the cultural richness that immigrants bring to this country. Self-care, there is the need to care for ourselves as a group so that we can remain motivated longer.

Women’s Rights Goal: To support, encourage and advocate for women with regard to reproductive rights, health care, economic justice, LGBTQ issues and violence against women.

WOMEN’S RIGHTS: MONTHLY OBJECTIVES
To contact progressive churches & women's organizations in Charlotte to counter protest at women's clinic. To create car pools and lists of UW4Change members interested in counter protesting at Women's Clinic. To research bill proposed in other states which supports women’s reproductive rights. To send letter and articles pertaining to Transgender issues to Rep. Mark Brody (District 55). To plan and form a committee for guest speaker, John Pavlovitz.

Women’s Rights: Action Items
1. Counter Protesting at Preferred Women's Health Center (Abortion Clinic) Location: 3220 Latrobe Drive Charlotte 28211 Times: Monday-Friday: 9:30-12:30 Saturday 7:30-1:00 Sign-up on Pro-Choice Charlotte 2. Read informational articles about trans-gender issues on United Women for Change website and FB page. To review bills HB62 and HB 186, and send postcards to bill sponsors.

POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE
Goal: To change decision makers with individuals in-line with our votes and to stop the local, state or federal agenda by identifying candidates to run for office, and securing youth involvement

Political Action Committee: Monthly Objectives
Organized many precincts- through calls, meetings, walking neighborhoods Attended Tillis office protest, attended joint meetings with Indivisible and Move-on. Members met with teen Dems, encourage more participation and writing post cards Attended Democratic Women’s Luncheon Formed sub-committees: Youth involvement, messaging.

Political Action Committee: Action Items
Assisting with calls to organize precincts Attendance at PAC meeting CMC-Waxhaw (Thurs, 7pm) Encourage and welcome Unaffiliated voters; need more voice from unaffiliated voters. To foster youth involvement: really need people 35 and younger.

Environmental Action Committee:
Goal/Mission: To advocate for environmental protection and preservation of natural environments for the health and well-being of all. To support for long term availability of clean air, clean water, clean soil and natural resources.

Legislation that affects the environment Communication with appropriate legislative bodies and representatives regarding proposed legislation and environmental concerns Identify, support and/or work with other national and/or international environmental organizations and activities

To gather names and contact information of people interested in this committee To schedule our first meeting to determine future monthly objectives and activities.

Environmental Committee: Action Items
March for Science: Charlotte April 22 (more information to follow) Focus of march is on climate change and the governmental block on communication from the EPA, national parks, and environmental research.

We have a “Cheat Sheet”. This is the list that we are handing out will also be on our FB page and we will update throughout our meetings. Be creative, use your sharpies and mind the dates.
