HTEN's primary purpose is to act as a forum for discussion and debate of history teacher education issues, and to disseminate recent research findings. HTEN encourages and promotes research into the learning and teaching of history at all levels by both new and experienced researchers. HTEN embraces both Initial Teacher Education and the Continuing Professional Education of history teachers, and also those involved in other aspects of history teacher education, such as museums education. Primary colleagues last year requested examples of excellent practice in primary history. The HA website provides these and other ways to connect with primary colleagues, for example: HTEN members Ali Messer and Rachele Morse are providing a session on mentoring new teachers as part of the main conference on Saturday afternoon A

What links should there be between organisations such as HTEN, the HA and the new Chartered College? What do HA members think of the proposals for teacher education reform proposed by Teacher Education Exchange? A
