Everyone stands in a circle Each person thinks of one sign they like, then take turns signing it. Uninflected Recurring Inflection Continuous Inflection

8 Uninflected If the activity or situation has occurred only once.
Use the basic form of the verb with its basic movement.

9 Recurring Inflection If the activity or situation occurs frequently or regularly. Everyday, Every Monday, Every Month, Every Week, Every year, etc.. Use the basic form of the verb with several repetitions.

10 Continuous Inflection
If the activity or situation has occurred continuously with little interruption. All hour, all day, all week, all morning, etc.. Use the basic form of the verb with a repeated circular movement.

28 Translate the following sentences into ASL using recurring or continuous time signs and inflections.
Every afternoon I have a headache. On Mondays, I’m tired. I get a cold/runny nose every 3 months or so. Once a year I get a sore throat. All afternoon I had a headache. I was tired all day Monday. For 3 months I’ve had a cold/runny nose! For a whole year my throat has been sore.

Dialogue format –small group of 4 people. Signer: Express concern Signer: Complain about present condition Signer: Show empathy, make suggestion Signer: Respond

30 Group of 4 Work Each person must sign at least 4 sentences in the conversation. Need to have 1 of the three Uninflected, Recurring Inflection, or Continuous Inflection in your conversations. Show off your skills, and make it fun to watch for the class. Don’t think what's the bare minimum, but look what we can do. Make up 3 questions to ask the class about your conversation.
