What is Required for the Project? 1. Video Proposal Sheet Must be completed and approved/signed before starting the video. 2. Video (Time frame: 6-12 minutes per group) 3. Essay Each person will write an 600 word essay (Must follow the Essay Format)
4. “The Process” (Participation in the lab) – The Instructor will monitor the students to make sure they are working. Students who are not engaged in the assignment will lose points. Make sure you are working!

3. Video Format Each group (2 students) will be assigned two (2) Supreme Court cases to present. The presentation will be through YouTube. Students need to select one of the video formats below. Format #1. News Format (i.e., news media room or a simulation of a live news feed outside the news room. Students should dress professionally for the news report. Each person will report on their individual case. This requires 2 reports for 2 cases . Format #2. Simulate a Supreme Court Case (Students can re-create scenes that can represent/depict a case and it’s outcome. This simulated video requires one case only. The time frame for the video. - Minimum of six (6) minutes - Maximum of Twelve (12) minutes The time frame for the video will be strictly enforced so anything under the minimum or over the maximum will result in a lower grade.

4. Creating a “YouTube” video.
- Each group will create a “YouTube” video through your Google student accounts. Follow these steps: 1. Log into your Google account, then go to the YouTube link on the corner right hand side (application boxes). 2. See the list of video links on how to create a YouTube video on the instructor’s website: aarcega.weebly.com 3. Each group must complete a “Video Proposal Sheet” so the instructor can sign and approve the video. The instructor will not approve cartoon type videos. Each student must be in the video to get credit After the video is completed, the instructor will be given the link to the YouTube video for a grade on the designated due date. Make sure the video can be viewed by the instructor through “public view” in YouTube. it to: - After the instructor grades the video presentation, the video can be deleted if the student chooses to delete it.

5. Type of Video News Broadcast: Students can create a video of news broadcast that will talk about the Supreme Court case that is assigned to the student. It could be similar to a nightly news format with news anchors. The report should explain the case and its outcome to get a good grade. Simulation or Recreating a Scene: Students can do this by studying the background of the case and re-create the case in a short story format. It should explain the case and its outcome to get a good grade.

6. Essay Format - Each group (2 students) will be assigned two (2) Supreme Court cases to present. Each student will be responsible for writing an essay about their individual case. If a student does not write an essay for their case, then no credit will be given for the whole project. Make sure to do the following: -Follow the essay format on the instructor’s website: aarcega.weebly.com - Include the essay checklist for proper format of the essay. Don’t write on the checklist. It’s for the instructor. - Include the cover page and reference page to get a good grade.
