Christmas can be such a joyful time here in Britain and Ireland.
As we celebrate Jesus, the light who came into the world, many of us will fill our homes with light and laughter, family and friends. Take a moment to reflect on how you might be celebrating Christmas this year. Note: Be considerate of the fact that for some, Christmas can be a bleak and lonely time.

Hunger in a world of plenty
Our dislikes mean a huge amount of waste. We throw away enough gravy from our Christmas dinners to fill a large swimming pool. We waste 74 million mince pies at Christmas. We chuck out so much meat at Christmas that it equates to 2 million turkeys. Wasted sprouts would fill 1,000 wheelie bins.
