1 Using RefWorks Exporting References from ACM Digital Library

2 Part 1: Export your references from ACM

3 Click on a title you are interested in

4 Click on the “BibTeX” export format

6 Method 1: export each reference to its own file and then import multiple files into RefWorks

7 Accept the default or give the file a one word name
Click the “Save” button

8 Method 2 is faster: copy each reference into a Notepad file and then import one file into RefWorks

9 First reference in a Notepad file

10 Copy the next reference…

11 And paste it into the first Notepad file
Continue until you have all the references you want

12 Accept the default or give the file a one word name
Click the “Save” button

13 Part 2: Import your references into RefWorks

14 On the menu bar, select References > Import

15 Import Filter/Data Source: choose “bibTeX” from the dropdown menu
Database: choose “ACM Digital Library BibTeX form” Browse for the file

16 The Notepad file with multiple references was chosen for this example
-Click Open after choosing the file

17 Select the “Import Into Folder”
Click the “Import” button

18 Success!
