Why Did I Choose This Topic? -I chose the topic of organic farming because there has been more demand for sustainable agriculture from farmers, sells people and especially the consumers. Many people that either grow or buy crops that have been tampered with by chemicals that can harm their hormones and their environment they live upon have noticed how it can affect them for long terms. Well, scientist have recently discovered a new and healthy way of growing crops that will not affect your hormones or your environment when you consume them or expose them to the outside world. I’m here to argue that organic farming is much better than the original, conventional farming styles by comparing the two.

So, What is Organic Farming? -In 2000 a national standard for “organic” was made.Organic farming is one form of agriculture that depends on sustainable farming techniques to enhance the crops and the farms that are being used for organic use. It is a type of method that grows healthy and edible vegetables, dairy products, grains, meats and fruits. This type of farming method has been discovered to preserve more water and soil so we can use the water and soil that is not used towards farming and use it towards more advanced problems in our world like the use of electricity. What is Conventional Farming and How is it Different than Organic? -Conventional farming differs from organic in many different ways. Conventional uses synthetic chemicals which are toxic fibers produced in factories that are used to increase the cultivation growth.(Health Guide, Organic vs.Conventional) Conventional farming uses more factory produced products than organic. Using factory produced products can undoubtedly harm the environments air by causing pollution when the factories release the waste into the air. https://www.bing.com/imag es/search?q=conventional %20farming&qs=IM&form= QBIR&sp=2&pq=conventio nal%20&sk=IM1&sc=8- 13&cvid=4A7514A170454 CF48ED3F0D3872DE4C6

Benefits of Organic: Disadvantages of Organic: ●Better Health ●Environmental safety ●Better Taste ●Animal Welfare ●Organic food is more expensive than conventional: -greater labour input -farmers don’t produce enough of one crop -small volumes=harder to lower cost ●Eating organic food can increase the exposure to biological contaminants -questions raised about manure, mycotoxins from molds and E.coli. https://www.bing. com/images/sear ch?q=bad%20he alth&qs=n&form= QBIR&sp=- 1&pq=bad%20he alth&sc=3- 10&sk=&cvid=806 FB01DA74A4598 AF4EB0E837AA CBE6 https://www.bing.com/images/sea rch?q=benefits+of+organic+farmi ng&FORM=HDRSC2

Advantages of Conventional: Disadvantages of Conventional: ●Farmers can supply consumers on demand. The consumers do not have to wait for their crops, instead they are grow faster by inserting hormones that make them bigger. ●It can have harmful effects on the environment and can cause pollution in the air. ●The use of chemicals and pesticides can ruin the soils nutrients and make it harder to grow crops. ●Generic-engineering and modifications, like steroids, are used to make crops and animals bigger. https://www.google.com/search?q=advantages+of+conventional+farming&sour ce=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiV3Pe28K3YAhVGYyYKHZZfCbsQ_ AUICygC&biw=1920&bih=925#imgrc=_ https://www.google.com/ search?biw=1920&bih= 925&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei =LYJFWti9Ha6vggfeh4a oCQ&q=disadvantages+ of+conventional+farming +in+animals&oq=disadv antages+of+conventiona l+farming+in+animals&g s_l=psy- ab.3...1805.4203.0.4419.9.8.1.0.0.0.121.774.5j3. 8.0....0...1c.1.64.psy- ab..0.0.0....0.RRdVzzK- VjI#imgrc=_

Why is Having an Organic Farm More Beneficial to You and Your Environment?
8
●Having your own small organic farm means that you are able to eat food that is good and healthy for you knowing where it comes from. Overtime, it would save you a lot of money because you aren’t visiting the market as much as you are during conventional farming. ●Buying products that have been conventionally produced means that you will spend less money but you are eating food that has harmful chemicals in them that can affect your health and your environmental air supply. ●There are many animals that eat pests that can harm your garden, so there is no need in having pesticides when animals can help your garden and not harm it like pesticides can. ●Having animals produce waste on your garden will help your soil become more healthier.
9
I Believe That….. -In conclusion, I believe farmers should choose to do organic farming because it may take longer for crops to grow, but it is more healthier for you and the environment unlike conventional which uses pesticides that can pollute the air and can also affect your health.
