Adaptations and traits of organisms final assessment-animal power point By: Brendan Riggs Animal: toucan Due date: march 28

birds Bird/warm blooded/lay eggs. Example Duck

mammals Mammals/warm blooded/has live young Example platypus

Amphibians Amphibians/ cold blooded/lays eggs Example frogs

Reptile/warm blooded/lay eggs
reptiles

fish Fish/have back bone/live in the water Dory from nemo

Adaptations I think adaptations are when the animals get very comfortable to their environment so they adapt to their environment.

Species adaptation+individual adaptation.
Species adaptations is when you get it by your same species like for a dog they always bark and they all do that. Individual adaptation is when you learn stuff on their own like a bird they have to learn on their own how to fly because some birds cant fly and the birds that do learn on their own

Camouflage Camouflage is when an animal blends in with its surroundings to hide from prey or catch it. Example a chameleon

Hibernation is when an animal hibernates into a warm safe place to survive the cold harsh winter like a bear hibernates and wakes up when summer of spring comes around. Example a hamster

Migration Migration is when you migrate to a different place Like the penguins in the picture .

Mimicry Mimicry a an animal mimicking an animal or being something its not.

Genetics Genetics describes heredity

Heredity Heredity is what you get from your parents or an ancestor.

Three Examples of inherited traits.and non-inherited traits
Inherited . if your mom has blue eyes maybe you have blue eyes.if your dad has red eyes you might have red eyes or if your grandma has blonde hair you could have blonde hair Non Inherited . If you learn how to ride a bike or tie your shoes.

Inherited traits Inherited traits are what you get from a family member.

Non-Inherited Traits Non-inherited traits are what you learn or get on your on like learning how to ride a bike you cant just get that from a family member you learn it on your own. Example riding a bike you learn on your own

Fossils Fossils are old historic bone from animals that have died in the past. The information they provide for us is how they they function and hoe they work and stuff.

I have chosen the toucan for my ADAPTIONS AND TRAITS OF ORGAISMS FINAL ASSESSMENT-ANIMAL POWER POINT.

The environment The environment the toucan lives in is the rain forests because it is warm cold and safe for a lot of animals.

Toucan inherited traits
The inherited trait of the toucan is the beak they all live in the rainforest.

Structure/function pray The toucan has a long beak to catch pray (structure) The function helps it fly to catch more pray

Fun facts Toucans eat fruit Have a long beak

bibliography Goggle and wikapedia

Fun page.
