2 How did the columbian exchange lead to less scarcity of resources around the world?
The columbian exchange lead to less scarcity Primary Document #1 of resources because of the introduction of new food and animals to the new and old world. Europeans brought over horses, pigs, and sheep. As each animal reproduced, the scarcity of meat declined. Crops became less scarce as more people began to grow them. Foods such as corn and potatoes increased life expectancy because of the increase of calories in them.

3 Why did some regions benefit and some regions suffer because of the Columbian Exchange?
Some regions benefited off the columbian exchange because they were introduced to new crops and livestock. For example Africa and Asia grew cassava or manioc (a root Crop). They also grew sweet potatoes and chilli peppers. They became staple foods across Africa and Asia. Some regions suffered because some of the old world plants grew out of control in the Americas. Many diseases spread as well. For example, colver ,spinach, mint, and artichoke grew like weeds.

4 How did America’s environment change?
The arrival of crops and domesticated animals to the Americas helped new crops flourish. At first, these new crops hurt the environment because they normally did not grow in that type of climate. But later, the crops were doing well in the new environment and gave people better food. When the animals were introduced into the new world they ate all the new crops. Later, ranches were introduced and farmers raised and then killed the animals to eat. Primary source #2

5 Who were the winners and losers of this exchange?
The winner of the columbian exchange would be the Europeans because they got food that became important staples in Europe and cattle which helped agriculture. The food included tomatoes, potatoes, and corn. The lifespan of the Europeans grew as well. The losers of the Columbian Exchange would have been the Native Americans because they did not gain as much as the Europeans did. For example, they did not get grain and many died of disease. They did get horses and cows which was really important, but not as important as the new crops.

6 What is the New And Old World
What makes up the New World- North America Primary Document #3 South America What makes up the Old World- Africa Europe Asia

7 What happened to world population because of New World crops?
The world population grew because these new crops had more calories which resulted in a longer lifespan for people. Examples of new world crops are corn, potatoes, tomatoes, and chocolate. Since these crops grew more easily than the old crops, which included sugar and wheat, there was a bigger supply of food.
