Why is it important to have a campus you feel safe on? (Article 1) Almost every month Cosmo Magazine comes out with a story similar to this, why is that?

Did you know that …..“One in five college women will be raped, or experience an attempted rape, before graduation.”-CNN.com
“Of the violent crimes reported on college campuses, 1,425 (53.2 percent) were aggravated assaults, 772 (28.8 percent) were robberies, 485 (18.1 percent) were forcible rapes, and 4 (0.15 percent) were murder or non-negligent manslaughter.” -(The National Center for Victims.com)

Did you know that under the 1990 Student-Right-To-Know act your campus is required to tell you what’s going on with the safety of your campus, but some universities still do not?(colleges.com) What are some of the pros and cons of that approach?
