Guidelines Every student has been randomly assigned to participate in two seminar discussions. Whereas every student is expected to participate based on their assignment, students can participate in discussion for which they are not assigned by temporarily taking an empty seat at a meaningful time. For each discussion, half of the assigned students will begin the discussion, yet at a specified time will switch places with the other half of the students assigned to the discussion in order to maximize opportunities for all students to participate. Participating students may use handwritten notes during the discussion.
