9. INTERNAL CONFLICT “Internal conflict is a problem inside the mind of the protagonist. It is human vs. self.”

Internal conflict is important because it is a struggle between a character and something inside himself/herself. This could be fear, love, loss, pain or some other struggle.

Internal conflict is a psychological conflict inside a character’s conscience. Internal conflict is not always “good” vs. “evil.” It can also be a conflict between two positive ideas.
