4. TAP Vendor Network Opportunities
TAP vendors provide riders with more convenient and widespread access to fare products
Easier access to TAP can promote regional connectivity between BBB and 23 other transit agencies in the county
Upcoming system changes will result in a higher demand for vendors:
Transfer on 2nd Boarding : riders will be able to transfer between transit agencies using a TAP card (cash will not be accepted)
Addition of new rail lines as a result of Measure M
Bus tokens are being phased out

5. TAP Vendor Network Requirements
Potential vendors must have at least one year in business
New locations must be at least .5 miles away from existing vendors or TVMs
A dedicated analog phone line is required for each CPOS device
Each potential vendor must be willing to undergo a credit evaluation

Vendors get free advertising on TAP’s printed directory in all Metro buses and on taptogo.net

7. TAP Vendor Network Costs There are minimal costs as a TAP Vendor
Vendor will need to install an analog phone line, if they do not already have one
Price of phone line will vary, depending on provider
TAP cards can be ordered from Metro and re-sold at vendor locations at face value ($2)
CPOS device is free of charge
Free to install or cancel
Training and operating manual is given upon installation of the device
Free access to Cubic technicians for CPOS maintenance
