ELPA 21 Update
15
ELP Assessment Update OSPI has adopted the WIDA Alternate ACCESS for ELLs as the alternate assessment for language proficiency. This test was developed specifically for this population. The test will be available in the spring (expected late February or early March) The WIDA test will be used for EL with significant cognitive disabilities in grade 1-12. OSPI is still working on an alternate assessment for Kindergarten ELs with significant cognitive challenges All students testing with the WIDA need to be identified in WAMS by December 13. Identification guidance was distributed through the WAW, Special Education, Bilingual Education, and ELPA21 list serves in early November. Guidance is identical to WA-AIM identification guidelines with the added criteria that a student must be an EL. Please contact if you need a copy of the guidance.
16
ELP Assessment Update Face-to-face trainings for administering the WIDA Alternate ACCESS for ELLs are being scheduled for late January. The face-to-face trainings will be a full day. OSPI is requesting that representatives from both EL and Special Education divisions attend the training. We will try to hold remote trainings at ESDs or other venues around the state. Training dates will be at the end of the January (weeks of January 22 and 29). All training opportunities and registration links will be announced via the ELPA21 list serve, the Migrant-Bilingual list serve and the WAW. Registration is limited by WIDA, so please do not wait to register once the training dates are announced.

Technology Update
18
Technology Update: iOS 11.1.x support
AIR now supports iOS v x, which includes the patch for the security concern with iOS 11 As announced earlier, AIR is now blocking iOS 11 from being used with the online Test Delivery System (TDS), and iOS 8.x is no longer supported
19
Technology Update: Chrome OS support
AIR now supports Chrome OS 61, with the exception of Acer 13 for ELPA21 recording. A compatibility issue between the AIR Secure Browser Kiosk app and Chrome devices made in 2017 has been discovered. Solution: ensure that all Chrome based devices made in 2017 to be used for testing should be set as managed devices.
