2. Huntsville City Schools has a new Policy Regarding Residency Verification
Huntsville City Schools Policy 6.1.2(k) – Annual Address Verification
Annually, Huntsville City Schools may request residency verification for all HCS students. This process will require parents/guardians to present documents establishing the residence of their students, such as documents demonstrating payment of utility bills. Students found to be attending a school outside of their home zoned school during this process will be allowed to remain at the school currently enrolled but will be required to move to the school serving their residence for the next school year.
The Address Verification process will take place January 5 – January 29
Parents/Guardians will be requested to provide the documentation to their student’s school.

3. Address Verification
Parents/Guardians who OWN their home are requested to provide current utility, cable or land line phone bill
Parents/Guardians who RENT/LEASE their home are requested to provide current utility, cable or land line phone bill
Parents/Guardians who SHARE RESIDENCE are requested to complete Shared Residency Affidavit, provide homeowner’s/lease holder’s current utility, cable or land line phone bill and parent must provide an official document addressed to them at that address
If the Service Address is the SAME as in INow
Document is scanned into INow - process is COMPLETE.
If the Service Address is DIFFERENT than the Address in INow
Parents/Guardians who OWN their home are requested to provide mortgage
Parents/Guardians who RENT/LEASE their home are requested to provide lease
Parents/Guardians who SHARE RESIDENCE are requested to provide homeowner’s mortgage or lease, and parent must provide an official document addressed to them at that address
Document is scanned into INow and updated in INow – process is COMPLETE
