Why Plan a Year in Advance?
Allows members to mark their calendars Attracts new members by showing organization and commitment Provides a template to stay on top of activity planning Maintains momentum – always advertising the next event Why Plan a Year in Advance?

Begin with a one year calendar and note all holidays
Add all relevant conferences that might be a conflict – national, regional and local IE: AANN education meetings, NTI, etc. Understand how your chapter wants to spend their time – how often do you want to meet? How many board meetings? Any symposiums? Considering scheduling meetings around designated celebrations or events IE: Neuroscience nurses week, local stroke walk, etc. Starting from Scratch

Do you want your meetings on the same day of each month at the same time?
IE: Third Thursday of the month at 6 PM Or do you want to mix it up? Consider having symposium / education days on Monday or Friday May increase attendance for those that need to travel to attend Holiday parties are better attended early – first week of December. Spread out the hard stuff – fill in gaps with easier meetings ie: vendor sponsored events. Additional Thoughts…
