Design Cycle How is it useful? Use this interactive presentation to find out!

Suppose your best friend Oliver's birthday is coming, and you, being his best friend, is asked by his parents to prepare a surprise party for him. How would you go about planning the event? Begin Planning
3
The next day, you decide to call a party planner, however, his parents inform you that they cannot afford to pay for the planner, but instead, request that you plan it personally. What's the first thing you do? Ignore them, planners are obviously better! I can do this, I believe in myself!

Wrong move. His birthday comes, and along with it, so does the bill
Wrong move! His birthday comes, and along with it, so does the bill. You could not afford to pay for the planner, and go to jail. Try again?
5
Once you get home, you log your computer, and get to work
Once you get home, you log your computer, and get to work. But first, you have to.... Google how to plan a party Research about the birthday celebrant.
6
Upon searching google, you find a result, talking about the design cycle. You see that step one is about investigating. I should do what the internet says. To investigate I shall! I don't think so. I can do this without planning. Psh
7
You go to Oliver's Facebook page, and learn a lot of new things about him. You then...
Talk to a few of his other close friends, to confirm and learn more. Start planning! That's enough investigating.
8
You forgot to plan! It turns out that the information you remembered got mixed up, and you forgot about his allergies! Try again?
9
It turns out that his Facebook information was outdated
It turns out that his Facebook information was outdated! You got the details all wrong, better luck next time! Try again?
10
Together with his friends, you create the event itself, and it turned out quite well!
Proceed
11
After the successful party, you asked Oliver how it was
After the successful party, you asked Oliver how it was. It turns out, this was the best party yet! He thanks you and asks how you managed to pull it off. The Design Cycle
12
Why is this important? Investigate Evaluate Design Create Plan
13
Investigate In order to be able to successfully carry out a plan, you need to first be able to know what could possibly make the idea better. This could mean research, or thorough observation, such as you did when researching on Oliver. Back
14
Design Seeing as this is the design cycle, we need to be able to design the plan. Without this, the plan would be messy, and could take an even longer time, being unorganized. This is seen when you think of ways to make Oliver's party better. Back
15
Plan Similar to design, we next have the planning stage. Here is where we put the ideas from designing, and put it into an actual layout. That way we are able to use it as a guide, and make things easier, such as we did in Oliver's party. Back
16
Create Here comes the most simple, yet vital part, the creation. Without this, well, there wouldn't be any output to end with. All the hardwork comes down to whether we are able to make it happen or not. The actual creating of Oliver's party. Back
17
Evaluate Perhaps the most underestimated part of the design cycle is the evaluation. As unimportant it may seem compared to the others, this is what will help us to create even better things with opportunities in the future. The next birthday party we plan will surely be better, as long as we evaluate it well. There is always room for improvement. Back
18
Why is this important? The design cycle can be used for anything, and well, everything. Ranging from projects to business, the design cycle ensures that our hardwork does not go to waste, and we get the results we deserve. Truly, it is a simple, criticized, yet helpful process.
