2. Pro Bono History
As an organization, the effort began with the 9/11 terrorist attacks when the Financial Planning Association (FPA) answered the call by establishing a Pro Bono outreach.
Since 2001 the FPA & the Foundation for Financial Planning (FFP),a 501c3 charity, have worked together to promote pro bono planning to those in need. In 2013 FPA and FFP entered into a strategic partnership.
FPA Chapters work with domestic violence shelters, homeless transition projects, and partnered with numerous community based organizations to give financial planning guidance to others.

We believe that the pro bono approach
to offer no sales/no strings attached
assistance to the underserved is the key underpinning that makes our outreach so
successful and trusted.

8. Military Partners
In 2013, 570 Military Members received one on one financial planning sessions from 413 planners.
Thousands received workbooks &/or online training resources via USA Cares, Easter Seals-Dixon Center.
