Protists may be single-celled organisms or multicelled. Bacteria are only single-celled. Bacteria have no membrane bound organelles, protists have nuclei and other organelles. Protists are eukaryotic, while bacteria are prokaryotic

Flagella are whip-like structures used for movement. Cilia are tiny hair-like projections that are used for movement.
