7 Priorities as set by the US DOE Office of Science
Presently operating or soon to be operating US accelerators. LCLS, CesrTA Future US domestic accelerators. LCLS II, LCLS III, Project-X, PEP-X, JLAB energy upgrade Future US contributions to international accelerator programs. Super-B, BEPC-II Other international accelerator programs. X-FEL Dismantlement and disposal Feb 15, 2009 Super-B Orsay Meeting

8 SLAC Response to Super-B Components of INFN Request (September 2008)
A) North and South Damping ring components and injection/extraction lines FACET B) Linac accelerator RF distribution waveguide (~72)  PEP-X C) Linac accelerating 3 m sections (~72) PEP-X D) Linac klystrons (~36)  PEP-X E) Linac klystron modulators (~36)  PEP-X F) Linac QA and QB quadrupoles (23+13)  PEP-X G) Linac dipole correctors (~40)  PEP-X H) Linac polarized gun system & associated three spin rotators with cryo-systems (~1+3)  Super-B I) Linac e+ target and capture area (~1+spares)  Super-B J) LER and HER dipoles and quadrupoles (~1022)  Super-B and Project-X K) Dipole steering correctors (~836)  Super-B L) Magnet mechanical supports (~1000)  Super-B and Project-X M) Vacuum chambers (~~650)  Super-B N) RF stations (complete) (~15)  Super-B and PEP-X O) Feedback systems (~4)  Super-B and BEPC-II P) Diagnostics (~120)  Super-B, LCLS, SPEAR-3 Q) Injection hardware (LER and HER)  Super-B R) Temperature monitors (~2000)  Super-B S) Power supplies (~800)  Super-B and some SLAC spares Feb 15, 2009 Super-B Orsay Meeting

9 Near term actions Cost estimation:
removal of components from the PEP-II tunnel. packaging the components into shipping containers (steel shipping boxes) transportation costs to Italy Storage costs in Italy Two to four Italian engineers are coming to SLAC in late February (week of Feb 23) to discuss the task and shipping arrangements. DOE formal review of PEP-II Minimum Maintenance state (MMS) and Disposal and Dispersal (D&D) March 23-24, 2009 at SLAC. Feb 15, 2009 Super-B Orsay Meeting

10 PEP-II Hardware Conclusions
The present Super-B design uses many of the PEP-II components. By weight and numbers, most of the Super-B requests can be fulfilled if the project goes ahead. If other projects do not go ahead, then Super-B could get additional components, primarily injection components. Engineers are studying removal, shipping, planning and costing. DOE review of PEP-II MMS and D&D in late March 2009. Feb 15, 2009 Super-B Orsay Meeting
