4. Mist/fog/smog Make it difficult to see
Mist – usually not very thick and we have it in the mountains or by the sea
Fog – thicker, usually in towns or in the country
Smog – in big cities, caused by pollution

5. It’s raining It’s damp It’s drizzling There are showers
Pouring (with rain)
There are torrential rains

6. It’s windy There is a breeze
It is brisk (the weather is fairly cold and a fairly strong wind is blowing)
There are gale force winds
It is squally (there are short periods when the wind is suddenly very strong)

It’s chilly
It’s pretty frosty
It’s freezing
It’s below zero
