2 Introduction Oscar Barnack invented many improvements to motion picture camera film transport design Oskar was head of the construction department , but had poor health and heavy equipment was hard for him to lift. This inspired him to reduce the size and weight of the camera

Was a master mechanic and inventor working for the Carl Zeiss company Received an offer in 1911 to join the Ernst Leitz Optische Werke in Wetzlar Died on January 16, 1936  Suffered from asthma

5 What? In 1912, he constructed a 35 mm movie camera.
often referred to as the father of 35 mm photography for his invention of “the Leica” Between 1913 and 1914 he developed the Ur-Leica, a prototype camera using 35mm motion picture film.

7 How it works.. Small camera used short clips of 35mm movie film that mounted alongside a regular motion picture camera. This allowed cinematographers (A director of photography is responsible for making artistic and technical decisions related to the image) to shoot a short clip of film and process it separately from the full magazine shot in the motion picture camera.

8 Conclusion Thanks to Oscar we are able to have a more compact, light-weight camera with the same power as the bulkier version. This improvement helped many people and especially professional photographers today Oscar is credited with the invention of the first 35mm camera.
