Imports and Exports Import: goods that are brought INTO a country

Navigation Acts A series of laws starting in 1660 that prohibited the colonies from trading with any other country. All trade had to go through England! Colonial merchants are angry… but can’t do much about it

How did the Navigation Acts restrict Americans?
Only British ships could transport imported and exported goods from the colonies
2. Only British citizens were allowed to trade with the colonies. 3. Items like sugar and tobacco that were produced in the colonies were ONLY exported to British ports.
