Human Body
2
Body organization and Homeostasis
Levels of organization Cell- basic unit of structure and function in a living thing Tissue-a group of similar cells that perform the same function Organ- is a structure that is composed of different kinds of tissue Organ system- a group of organs that work together to perform a major function Organism-a living thing
3
Function of cells Cells carry on the processes that keep organisms alive.

Tissues The body has four major types of tissue:
Tissue-a group of similar cells that perform the same function The body has four major types of tissue: 1) Muscle tissue-this tissue contracts only, by doing this it can make you bones move. (mover) 2) Nervous tissue- this tissue directs how the muscles move, the controller. (controller) 3) Connective tissue- Provides support for the body and connects the all its parts. (connector) 4) Epithelial tissue- this tissue is also know as your skin it cover the outside and inside of your body. (protector)
5
Organs and organ systems
We are going to learn about six different organ systems: 1) Skeletal system (bones) 2) muscular system (muscles) 3) Digestive system (stomach) 4) Circulatory system (Heart, blood) 5) Respiratory system (Lungs) 6) Nervous system (brain)

Homeostasis Homeostasis is the process by which an organism’s internal environment is kept stable in spite of changes in the external environment. Examples: Sweat Shiver
