2. What is Student Council?
It is an opportunity for you to:
Be a leader and role model for school pride
Help plan school events like canned food drives or a campus clean-up day
Participate in Hawk News Network

3. What are the positions available?
Grades 4 & 5
President
Vice President
Corresponding Secretary
Recording Secretary
Publicist
2 class representatives/class
Grades 3 – 5

4. What do you need to do when you join student council?
Attend a meeting once a month
Help organize and run events sometimes before, during, or after school
Make announcements
Make posters, participate in skits

5. How do I get elected to Student Council?
Complete your application by September 8th
Prepare and submit a speech to Mrs. Maryann by Sept 14th Practice your speech!
Make a positive poster about yourself and what position you want
Give a 1-2 minute speech at an assembly or in front of your class.

6. What you need to do NOW?
Ask your teacher for a Candidate Application and choose the position you want to run for.
Have everything turned into the office by Friday, September 8th, no later than 3:00 p.m.
