CSE 3 Becoming Computer Literate By Katie Harunk Overview of CSE 3
Fluency with Information Technology Becoming Computer Literate By Katie Harunk Overview of CSE 3 Using Javascript to Interact Analyzing Data in Excel CSE 3 is a computer literacy class meant to teach you the basic computer knowledge needed to work in today’s world. CSE 3 teaches you the basics of the most important programs in the working world like Excel, Javascript, Powerpoint, and HTML. BlackJack, although more complicated, also allowed us to interact using functions and strings to allow players to go against the dealer to win some fake cash! In Excel we created a stocks profile to compare and contrast competing companies and observe/display their progress by using both “if” formulas comparing cells and colorful charts Career Planning With Excel For our FIFA page, we used Javascript to be able to interact with what people thought about the final game! With some humor thrown in In Excel we created both a career planning site that showcased links, photos, and a detailed background explaining our history behind our career plan, and a four year plan in excel detailing our career path in college. To create a budget, we had to create spendings and incomes combined with formulas to calculate information for each month of income and spendatures! Plus some graphs to explain each months spendings. Making Worlds with Alice Sharing & Creating Information Mastering HTML to Share Info Linked to our CSE page are many files like so, that allow others to click on the designated days to receive information about us, and other events, To master HTML we had to learn how files are organized with addresses, the different codes that create different headings, fonts, colors, etc., and how to insert a hyperlink and photos to jazz up a page. In Alice we learned how to create our own animated worlds by utilizing loops and methods to tell our creations what to do.
