Perseverance Helen persevered because she overcame blindness and deafness. Perseverance means to keep trying despite many obstacles that a person overcomes. Helen went to college.

Helen helped other people. Caring
She visited hurt veterans in U.S. hospitals. She also helped people with disabilities, including those with physical, learning and emotional disabilities. She did this because she overcame her own disability. She helped them and they trusted her because she had her own disability.
