23 Born in Chongqin, central China in 1982, Li Yundi is a world-famous pianist.
At the age of 4, Li started to learn accordion [ə'kɔ:dɪən] (手风琴). Three years later, he showed an interest in playing the piano and has practised very hard since then. Later,he got to know Professor Dan, one of the most famous piano teachers in China and followed him to the Shenzhen Arts School. After his early success, he went on to study in Germany(德国). Li is best known for winning the International Chopin (肖邦)Piano Competition in 2000, at the age of 18. So far, hundreds of his concerts have been successfully held all around the world. Li’s music is always full of imagination. And his success which mixes talents and hard work together sets a good example for teenagers nowadays.
