1 Compliance Preparation Tool: What WVDE Sees
[LISA / ROBERT] Thank you for joining us for the second in a series of webinars as we move forward toward full statewide implementation of the new educator evaluation system. We have a very large group that registered, and we are very excited that you have joined us. Please note that the webinar is being recorded and will be uploaded to the WV Department of Education website. The PPT will also be uploaded. Additionally, there will be a time provided for questions at the end of the webinar. 2 What is the Compliance Preparation Tool?
This is the report of every professional staff member in your entire school . You must list EVERY Professional that works in your school!

The Principal Substitute Teachers School Counselor Student Support--OT, PT, Speech, School Nurse, etc. Teachers

4 What Information Is There?
You will see the following information: Their Name Their Schedule Their Credentials Any tests electronically on file with the WVDE such as the NEST, NTE, or Praxis The Highly Qualified Data Record/History The Caseload (for special education teachers)

2nd Select MENUS WVR 400 Educator Quality EDU.QUA Educator Quality 3rd Click on HQ 2016 (or the current HQ school year) 4th Click on Compliance Tool Click on the school name and select “Obtain Report” You may need to contact your WVEIS county contact in order to be given access to this site.

6 What To Do Now 1- Print this report within the first month of school (ASAP) Check every person for any errors. Correct errors immediately 2- Print this report periodically throughout the school year Check and correct errors immediately 3- Print this report prior to the Highly Qualified Data Report, an OEPA or Title I Visit

7 Resources to have when looking at this report
1- WVEIS Course Code Manual (to check course codes and certification) 2- Policy 5202 Appendix B (for testing requirements) and Section 8: HQT 3-Policy 5100 Section 12.4.d (for special education requirements for certification)

8 Quiz: Check the following information: 1-- The name 2-- The schedule and course codes 3– The endorsement codes. The course code and endorsement code must match for the person to be credentialed to teach their classes. Special Education teacher must also have the appropriate special education endorsement(s). 4– The programmatic grade levels 5– The caseload: is the teacher credentialed to have the caseload. 6—Highly Qualified Status: Check for a content exam(s) and/or the HQ reporting data. (HQ data must be verified) Gifted and Deaf/Hard of Hearing teachers are not required to take a content exam (Praxis II, NTE, etc) Check in Policy 5202 Appendix B for certification requirements. A special education teacher w/ autism in addition to their other special education endorsements will not have a Autism content exam listed. If a special education teacher only has Autism, they should have a content exam listed for Autism.

9 Examine Your School Report
Everyone is receiving their school’s Compliance Preparation Report. Remember that only the core subjects and the arts need to be checked for highly qualified status. Mark any errors/mistakes so that they can be corrected ASAP.
