In this power point you will learn about friction.
By: Fatima, Jamal and Nora.
2
What is friction? Friction is a force between two surfaces that are sliding, or trying to slide, across each other. For example, when you try to push a book along the floor friction makes this difficult.
3
What does friction look like?
4
Friction Friction can be a useful force because it prevents our shoes slipping on the pavement when we walk and stops car tyres skidding on the road. When you walk, friction is caused between the tread on shoes and the ground. This friction acts to grip the ground and prevent sliding, slipping and falling.

Balanced Forces VS Unbalanced Forces
7
Newtons The following symbols are used for the units when measuring mass: N: newton kg: kilogram
8
Who is Isaac Newton? Isaac Newton is considered one of the most important scientists in history. Even Albert Einstein said that Isaac Newton was the smartest person that ever lived. During his lifetime Newton developed the theory of gravity, the laws of motion (which became the basis for physics.)
9
The end! Thank you for watching our power point about friction! We hope you learnt something new!
