(city areas). Most people were rural.

12  Slum development: Rapid growth of slums with no services – no electricity, no plumbing, no trash pickup Calcutta, India

13  Unemployment: City businesses don’t have enough jobs to employ people as fast as they arrive. So they earn money however they can.

14  Health problems: overcrowding, with limited city services, leads to unhealthy lack of sanitation.
