1.Make a T-chart in your note book. 2. On the Left, list all objects in Frida Kahlo Image, at least 10. You may do this with a partner, each person makes their own chart 3.On the right, make an educated guess, using what you know about your own culture, about what each symbol might mean in the image.

Find the name of the painting on the internet. List at least three symbols from each painting that is a direct reaction to an event in her life. Describe the meaning of the three symbols for each painting. 3 symbols for each of the 3 paintings.

How did the artist involve the community in the creation of the artwork? How did he ensure the community’s voice was heard? What symbols did the artists use in the portraits? What facial expressions? Choose one specific portrait. Describe 3 symbols used to create the portrait. What was the artist saying he or she was by using these symbols. Describe the facial expression used in the portrait you chose. What does the facial expression say about who the person is? Write one paragraph describing what the portrait is about and what the artist is saying who the person in the portrait is.
