Key objective Bridge the Broadcast and Internet worlds Develop technologies, tools, systems and standards to enable innovative second screen applications spanning across Broadcast and Internet contents, including: Automated and streamlined production for dual screens Rendering of new types of content (e.g. 3D reconstructions)

Hybrid broadcast/Internet architecture supporting companion screens Professional Authoring Tools to generate bridgets and dynamic Augmented Reality (AR) scenes Easy-to-use Authoring Tools for end users BRIDGET Player to select bridgets, and consume and navigate hybrid content Strong contribution to international standards Innovation: Visual search and media analysis 3D scene reconstruction Authoring Tools (ATs) and end-user terminal tools

Consortium: 9 complementary partners with key expertise… National broadcaster: RAI – requirements, demonstrators and user trials Four universities/institutes supporting development of core technologies: Univ. of Surrey – Visual Search and Media Analysis + Coordination IMT – Authoring tools, media management and Visualisation UPM, Fraunhofer – 3D acquisition, reconstruction & rendering Hardware manufacturer: Huawei – 3D audio & video rendering, devices Telco: Telecom Italia – System Architectures, formats, protocols High-tech SMEs working in the digital media domain CEDEO: Use cases, requirements, digital media technologies Visual Atoms: Digital media analysis, management and metadata All partners have extensive standardisation experience including MPEG and DVB.
