LESSON
This is the second of five lessons on intonation in English speech. The First of these lessons was principally concerned with locating the nucleus in short utterances. Each nucleus had either a falling or a rising tone. This second lesson gives practice in using both the falling and the rising tones and in distinguishing between them. First the falling tone. You will hear words containing a nucleus with a falling tone and you will then hear these words fitted into longer utterances. Listen carefully
