Parent Meeting January 17, 2017

2 Trip Dates May 17th - Depart from BMS at 9:00am
May 19th - Return to BMS at 2:30pm Hiram House Camp located in Moreland Hills

3 Activities Student Groups of 9-12 Class session rotation
ODE Standards-based activities Hiram House Outdoor Education

4 Activities: Hiram House
Archery Canoeing Climbing Wall Low Ropes Challenge Course

5 Activities: BMS Teachers
Creative Writing Math Activities Physics/Engineering Activities Water Quality Study Physical Education

6 Payment and Forms $125.00 due by April 17th
Checks payable to Beachwood Middle School All forms also due by April 17th

7 Chaperones BMS 6th Grade Team Members Seniors and/or College Students
Hiram House Counselors and staff Guidance Counselor Nurse

8 Special Activities Night Hike PTO sponsored bonfire with snacks Mixer
Recreation Time Scavenger Hunt Tie-Dying

9 Accommodations Separate cabins for boys and girls
Cabins sleep 50 students Overnight camp counselors will chaperone student cabins

10 Day Camper Option Available for any student
Bus available to take from BMS to camp each morning PARENT pick-up at Hiram House at 6:30pm (no bus available in the evening) Form given by request only

11 Packing List Detailed list in Parent Packet
Sheets, towels, pillows,and blankets or sleeping bag are necessary Weather appropriate clothing Watch

13 Electronics Cameras are permitted Electronics will NOT be permitted
cell phones and iPods laptops tablets, Nooks, and Kindles any game system (including hand held) An emergency phone number will be provided for parents

14 Safety Hiram House Certified Staff Health Lodge with Beachwood nurse
Life-flight landing pad Nearby medical centers

15 Behavior Contract No Suspensions No more than 4 Referrals
May require a parent meeting Effective January 18th Do the Right Thing!

16 Student Conduct at Camp
All BMS rules apply for the duration of the trip Major behavior problems will result in parents picking up student from Hiram House
