As creator, judgment is His right
He has made Himself accessible so that we might meet His purpose

The promise of judgment is absolute
Through the resurrection, God has demonstrated both the power and the will
To doubt judgment is to doubt that God exists

22 So Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I observe that you are very religious in all respects.

The men of Athens were seeking a god, but their actions were not enough
God had not intervened but “now commandeth all men to repent”
One cannot seek God through man’s inventions

9. Ignorant Men Will Be Lost
23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

“…what you worship in ignorance” NASB
Their total ignorance was unacceptable (vs. 27)
God sent His Son to “declare Him” (Jn1:16-18), His Spirit to speak of Him and His Apostles to proclaim Him
