The Law Fulfilled in Jesus
Came not to destroy, but to fulfill (Matt. 5:17-19) “Abolish” - NASB & ESV - wrong word Compare with Ephesians 2:15 Did Jesus do what He came not to do? They are different words in original language Matthew – “to destroy utterly; to overthrow completely” Ephesians – “to reduce to inactivity”

Jesus spoke of a change coming (Jn. 4:20-24)
Today we are to follow Jesus and do what He has commanded (Matt. 28:20)

Jesus, The Pivotal Point
His death changed all (Col. 2:14; Eph. 2:15) “Then He said, ‘Behold, I have come to do Your will.’ He takes away the first in order to establish the second’ (Heb. 10:9) Requires the death of the Testator (Heb. 9:16-17). His blood inaugurates the new covenant (Heb. 9:18; Matt. 26:28)
