Map Quizzes
We have two regions remaining (the West and Southwest regions), and we will be testing on both of these Thursday, March 2nd. I can not stress the importance of your child studying for these regions. Waiting until the last minute causes a lot of stress and does not allow the them to perform well. Please help your child make this a priority.
Jacksonville Zoo Trip
We are getting very close to the Jacksonville Zoo Trip! Yay! We are really excited. There is a lot of information coming home regarding details of this trip. Please pay close attention to your child’s Friday Folder and notes home section of the Fox File. This week in the Friday Folder you should find the following:
Chaperone letter (to those it applies to)
Informational letter with a portion to fill out and return by Monday, 2/27

Curriculum Focus
Language Focus
Skills: problem & solution, character, setting, plot, main idea and key details, summarize, suffix, idioms
Grammar: contractions, main and helping verbs, independent and dependent clauses, simple, compound and complex sentences, and identify subordinating conjunctions
We will also be continuing to practice skills and strategies as we prepare for the FSA. We will be putting our Wonders curriculum on hold. We will instead be using the iReady curriculum for the next couple of weeks. There will be no spelling tests or Wonders assessments for the next couple of weeks.
