2. Reflecting on T1 Did you get the grades you wanted in T1?
If not, how do you plan to improve in T2?
What stage are you at with your dissertation?
Ensure you have a plan to complete this in plenty of time.
Did you manage your time effectively?

3. Attendance As always attendance is important and will be monitored.
This is particularly important in electives. I will be monitoring elective attendance closely.
If you cannot attend ensure you the lecturer or tutor with a reason.

4. Extensions 24 hours before the deadline
Must be supported with verifiable evidence
Doctors note, hospital appointment etc.
Missed classes and ed the tutor
Support from your dissertation supervisor
Manage your time so that illness (your own or someone else) the day before the deadline does not stop you submitting.
Minor illness colds, flu etc. should not prevent you from completing your CW if you have managed your time properly.

5. Extensions
Unless clearly impacting on you, other peoples circumstances (e.g., lack of childcare) do not warrant an extension.
Receiving an extension on one piece of work does not mean you will receive it on others. 1 extension can cause overlap between coursework (2 then due on same day). It is up to you to manage the time if you take the first extension.
Do not just “try your luck” if you can’t demonstrate a clear reason why your circumstances have prevented you from doing the CW don’t .

6. “FIT to SIT” Extenuating Circumstances Statement
If you feel like you cannot complete CW to your preferred standard or cannot sit an exam you can submit an ECS.
Can submit up to 48 hours after submission (exam). Original work will not be marked.
Resubmission/Resit opportunity as 1st sit HOWEVER this will take place in August.

8. Exam Outcomes Formal grades for T1 will be available in February.
Resits (where needed) will take place in August.

9. Degree Classifications
40 – 49% = 3rd Class
50 – 59% = Lower Second Class (2:2)
60 – 69% = Upper Second Class (2:1)
70 – 100% = First Class

10. Dissertations Plan your time effectively.
You have had all year – extensions will only be given for clearly evidenced circumstances which have affected you over time (not just before the hand in) and can be supported by your supervisor.
LISTEN to your supervisor – they will mark your work!
