2 What is Love? In pairs discuss this question and feedback to the class. Love- A History How did Romanticism change our ideas of love? Has this caused unrealistic ideals and expectations of love? Has this caused the high rates of divorce?

3 Unrequited Love What do we mean by unrequited love?
Unrequited love or one-sided love is love that is not openly reciprocated or understood as such by the beloved. The beloved may not be aware of the admirer's deep and strong romantic affection, or may consciously reject it. The cure for unrequited love

4 Flirting Why, how and when to flirt
Practise your flirting skills! In pairs look up chat up lines on the internet and practice using them on one another- feedback to the class What were the best lines? Which ones were the worst? Do lines like this work?

5 Crushes How to handle a crush
What are the signs that you might have a crush on someone? You want to look at them A LOT! You get nervous around them You might blush You think about them a lot Playful interaction with them Asking your crush out on a date Is this good advice? What advice would you give? How can you stop having an inappropriate crush? Find someone to talk to; call a friend. Ask that friend if he or she wants to hang out — you can get out of the house and stop thinking about your crush! Throw yourself into a new hobby or an activity.

8 Monogamy/ Polyamory What is Monogamy?
Monogamy is a form of relationship in which an individual has only one partner during his or her lifetime or at any one time (serial monogamy), as compared to polygyny, polyandry, or polyamory. Is this a natural state? Is this the most common form of relationship? What might be difficult about having a monogamous relationship? What is Polyamory? Polygamy involves marriage with more than one spouse. When a man is married to more than one wife at a time, it is called polygyny. When a woman is married to more than one person at a time, it is called polyandry. How is polyamory viewed in our society? You, Me and Her Why polyamory doesn't work for everyone

9 Settling down and Marriage
When is it time to settle down Why bother with Marriage? What is a prenup? A prenuptial agreement, antenuptial agreement, or premarital agreement, commonly abbreviated to prenup or prenupt, is a contract entered into prior to marriage, civil union or any other agreement prior to the main agreement by the people intending to marry or contract with each other. The content of a prenuptial agreement can vary widely, but commonly includes provisions for division of property and spousal support in the event of divorce or breakup of marriage. They may also include terms for the forfeiture of assets as a result of divorce on the grounds of adultery; further conditions of guardianship may be included as well. Is a prenup common practice? Who tends to have prenups? What do you think of a prenup? Is it romantic?!

10 Why do people have affairs?
Why have an affair? What is the divorce rate in the UK? 42% Is it acceptable in our society to not get married? What are the alternatives to marriage? What do we call a man who is unmarried? And what do we call a woman? Which one of these names has negative connotations and why? People guess the couples
