Qualified Products Database
Parts Standardization & Management Committee (PSMC) April 29, 2008 DSPO Good afternoon. In this session, I will be demonstrating the Weapons Systems Impact Tool, also known as the WSIT. First, I’ll discuss how to access it. Then I’ll try to demonstrate why you might want to access it.
2
DoD users who have an ASSIST user account and password may access the WSIT from a menu option in the left frame menu of the main ASSIST menu screen. [click for automated circling of the WSIT menu option] Note the position of the WSIT option, just south of the Qualification database and just north of the Program Managers Tool. Please note that ASSIST account holders with other than a DoD account type do not see this menu option. Clicking on this button takes DoD users directly to the first entry screen of the WSIT, which is essentially a search portal. Before we explore it, however, let’s look at an alternate way to access the WSIT. Since it does not reside on the ASSIST website, it is possible to access the WSIT directly, even if the ASSIST might be offline for some reason.

Due to a change in DOD policy, suppliers wishing to maintain their retention on a QPL/QML must be registered with Central Contractor Registration ( and must maintain their registration in an active status.

Notice that you must have a user account and password to log in to ASSIST. Since many users, however, only want to look up – or download – a specific document, you also have some other options, such as Quick Search and ASSISTdocs.com. Let’s explore those first.
