2017 Outreach Goals Improve the STEM Award program
Strengthen relationships with Chapter contacts Strengthen alliances with complementary non-profit organizations Continue to improve simnet.org STEM Outreach pages and coordinate cutover with new platform Increase STEM Outreach communications with Chapters Develop media content to publicize the successes of the Chapter’s Outreach efforts

2017 STEM Outreach Awards STEM Pioneer: Recognizes Chapter Outreach Committee Chair, committee member or board member whose contributions have significantly advanced local STEM initiatives Most Inspiring Leader: Recognizes an RLF or Chapter Member who is deeply and personally involved in STEM programs/initiatives and has led innovative programs to recruit and mentor STEM students/young professionals during the past year. Chapter Award – STEM Innovation: Recognizes a Chapter which sponsors a significant community outreach initiative highlighting technology innovation, STEM career opportunities, or other types of outreach. Tabletop Discussion Do we remove the Corporate Catalyst Award for 2017? Do we create a new award category for non-profit organization?

Chapter STEM Metrics Why are we gathering the metrics?
Demonstrates the impact that the SIM Chapters are making in their local communities Facilitates inclusion of facts in newsletters, publicity, media relations Important information to share for new member recruitment Publicizes the great work of the chapters and the overall SIM organization in a consistent manner Provides a historical record of SIM as a change agent in STEM

Table Top Exercise At your tables:
Pick someone to report out on the tabletop discussion. Topics for discussion: What is the most innovative and impactful program that chapters have done? Should we continue the Corporate Catalyst award for 2017 (only 2 nominees in 2016) ? Should we create a Non-profit Org Award? Should we brand and market our awards? We will all come back together to review table reports.
