MeSH: Medical Subject Heading NLM: National Library of Medicine: NIH: National Institutes of Health NCBI: National Center for Biotechnology Information. NCBI belongs to NLM and NLM itself is a department of NIH.

MEDLINE - Definition A MEDLINE database is the electronic counterpart of Index Medicus®, Index to Dental Literature, and the International Nursing Index, taken care by NLM. MEDLINE is the most used medical bibliographic database.
