9 Residency Determination service (RDS)
What is it?: RDS establishes if students should have in-state or out-of-state tuition. Who should complete it?: Anyone who wants in- state tuition at any NC public college or university AND Anyone who wants to be considered for grant money at all NC colleges and universities. When should it be completed?: It is best to complete it before you do your college admission application. Where?: or You will receive a residency certification number (RCN) to use on your college applications.

WHO? Any student/athlete considering a Division I or II School jsp Request transcript from Ms. Carter, Registrar, after junior year Send scores from ACT/SAT directly to NCAA

13 Transcripts Submit transcript electronically on CFNC.org for NC schools If a school uses the Common Application, a transcript will be uploaded by your School Counselor when you submit his/her address OR see Mrs. Carter, Registrar, in Guidance for a transcript request form List colleges and scholarships where you would like your transcripts sent Pick up official transcripts the next day and mail them to the colleges If you took Sandhills Community College classes in high school you will need to request a transcript from Sandhills once class is finished in order to receive college credit. PHS transcript lists Sandhills classes and can be used for college admission purposes.

15 Financial Aid Types of Financial Aid: Grants, Loans, Work-Study, Scholarships Completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Apply for a student PIN and a parent PIN (FSA ID) Can begin FAFSA on October 1st of the year prior to starting college Need personal info, tax returns, and financial info from prior-prior year.
